ME!!

I am 33 years of age. Hailing from the beautiful little state of Goa (India) which is where I draw my inspiration from. Being surrounded by lush greenery, placid lakes, golden beaches, scenic springs, I can go on forever, but in short its nature’s oriented perfection and that’s one of the key factors that helps me focus, relax, think and get creative. Seriously, it’s a place worth visiting.

I am a BFA graduate from Goa College of Art, where I studied design and illustration. Soon after graduation I worked at Keni digital studios that deals in graphic designs, pre-production, illustrations, animation, advertising, filming etc. It’s been four years of fresh, quality experience in the industry. During my work tenure I had taken up a course in 3D character animation at Animation and Art school Goa where I have learned a great deal in the field of animation and gained that much needed exposure and most of all made a lot of friends from various creative departments. In my time I have also worked on a number of freelance projects like story book illustrations, sports illustrations, cover page design, character design, animation…the list is interminable.
I am also currently working with two colleagues on a 3D animated short film. We are story tellers and we want to convey our stories in the way we know best.

Illustration being my prime skill, I love creating or modifying.. My likes for certain titles reflect my drawings. I worship fantasy, It expands the creative aspect and emphasizes on the magic. It also requires less questioning and hence more creative freedom. Science-fiction is also another riveting subject. I love cool ingenious technology and alien concepts. I’ve watched a couple of inspiring tutorials of Iain McCaig, a conceptual artist who has worked on a number of star wars projects. I’m partial to movies and games based on said themes. Horror is also another favorite of mine, from grotesque faced ghosts to bad-ass psycho killers to little girl ghosts with their creepy one-eyed teddy bears, really gives me the shivers. Although general humor is an emotion I love to work with, it isn’t always a simple task.

TO THE ENTERTAINMENT!!

Yes! I’m a movie buff. The dark knight, Lord of the rings, Shawshank redemption to name a few.  I love mystical plots, characters, sets, backgrounds and visual effects. I love documentaries such as Zeitgeist, Earthlings, the Cosmos and so on.

I am a total music junkie, my playlist consists of music of every genre, as long it has a melody but rock and classical music hands down beat all the others. Mainstream stuff is not my type. I do play the guitar, but my performances were mainly restricted to my college years.
I’m a gamer at heart, I meet up with friends every weekend for a session of FIFA14, Mortal combat and good old “quake” sometimes, I shall never tire of it, it’s still super awesome. I’m a huge fan of all sports. I’ve always wanted to try my hand at tennis, although it’s not a common sport here, it’s at the top of my list.

FUN(?) FACTS!!

Some interesting facts about me… I can’t whistle. I don’t find that naturally easy. When I was an altar boy, I got screamed at by “Father Grumpy” (who was unaware of the mic being on) for pouring less wine and more water. I think I must have deprived him of the only fun thing he had all week so I can understand his outburst. Still, very embarrassing.
